Training

Text training
In recent years, Lucidity Media has established a unique reputation as a writer and editor for some of the UK’s largest cultural and museum projects and as a trusted partner for small scale projects which need a focused eye. We have a particularly strong reputation for understanding, identifying and using tone of voice in text.

Using an interactive, discursive and engaging training style, we train teams to write and edit text, inspiring staff to work creatively, collaboratively and confidently. We have delievered bespoke training for independent, national, local, university and volunteer museums.

"I came away feeling confident that we have the ability to be really good text writers... The course reminded me why I wanted to work in the sector. It was relevant, up to date, creative, inspiring. It captured so much of what makes museums great." Manx National Heritage

“Lucidity Media challenged us, praised us and gave us the confidence and clarity to go forward with ‘our own voice’. What was once a feared task has now been embraced by the team with enthusiasm.” Catriona West, Museum nan Eilean

“Amongst other key strengths of the training – clear structure, time for discussion, practical application of ideas - I’d like to mention something a bit more intangible: the way Lucy was able to create a ‘safe’ environment in which we all felt comfortable about sharing our writing, offering our option about strengths and weaknesses and being self-reflective. The team came out feeling confident.”
Jessica Bradford, Making Modern Communications project, Science Museum

“The whole exhibition team have really benefitted from Lucy's training - not least from her positivity and belief that text writing does not have to be a daunting prospect.”
Matthew Sheldon, the National Museum of the Royal Navy

Our intensive sessions are practical, engaging and creative, accommodating different learning styles, as we consider a range of writing from newspapers and adverts to museum text and websites. Delegates are given opportunities to reflect on their own experience and to consider how their new skills can be applied.

We can offer a full day of training for staff with a wide range of text writing experience or we can create bespoke training for your museum, tailored to your projects and priorities.
